Pia Lindsay Studio

About Pia

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, designer Pia Lindsay first tapped into her creativity as a young girl when her parents enrolled her in fine arts classes at the Brooklyn Museum. After attending the High School of Art and Design, with a specialty in fashion design, she moved to Los Angeles to attend Otis College of Art and Design. It was here where she was mentored by illustrious designers, Bob Mackie, Cynthia Rowley and Trina Turk. She was selected to display her designs both inside and in the windows of Neiman Marcus while receiving the recognition of an emerging designer of 2012. After receiving her bachelor's degree in Fine Arts & Fashion Design she worked for Perry Ellis, Banana Republic, Tory Burch, Thomas Wylde, and Tadashi Shoji.  Much of that time was also spent overseas in Paris, Shanghai and Hong Kong, sourcing new fabrics, designing with pattern makers, and attending market week. Her designs have been worn by celebrities like Regina King, Angela Bassett, Mary J. Blige, Tiffany Haddish, Megan Fox, Yara Shahidi and Olivia Culpo, on the red carpet and have been shown in various global publications such as Vogue, Harper Bazaar, GQ, and WWD.

With a decade of work experience in New York and Los Angeles, Pia set out on her own and launched Pia Lindsay Studio in 2020.

Although 2020 has been noted as one of the most difficult year for the fashion industry, Pia was able to turn her focus onto a greater, more personal, project.  Determined to build a brand defined by style, bold femininity and sustainability, her first collection utilized dead stock fabric and hardware accents.  This innate sense of experimentation shaped her design process.  “Wastefulness, surplus materials, the global pandemic and trying to start something new amidst all of it, was something I never stopped thinking about.  I wanted to really consider my brand's values."

Based in New York, Pia Lindsay Studio exists to create sensible luxury clothing with a timeless appeal, directed towards a client with a strong sense of self.  Dedicated to creating a new idea for the future of fashion through thoughtful designs and the elimination of fast fashion trends and ideas, "it's about making something that lasts.  Designs that I can stand behind a decade down the line."
